Description
This Air Fryer Baked Brie in Puff Pastry is a quick and elegant appetizer featuring creamy brie wrapped in flaky puff pastry, topped with brown sugar and pecans for a perfect balance of sweet and nutty flavors. Using an air fryer makes it easy to achieve a golden, crispy crust without heating up the oven.
Ingredients
Scale
Pastry
- ½ (17.3-oz) package frozen puff pastry, thawed (1 sheet)
Filling
- 1 (8-oz) wheel brie cheese
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- â…“ cup chopped pecans
- dash of cinnamon (optional)
Finishing
- 1 egg (beaten)
Instructions
- Prepare the puff pastry and brie: Unfold the thawed puff pastry sheet on a clean surface. Place the 8-ounce wheel of brie cheese in the center of the pastry. Sprinkle the top of the brie evenly with brown sugar, chopped pecans, and a dash of cinnamon if desired for extra warmth and flavor.
- Wrap the brie: Carefully gather the edges of the puff pastry up around the brie, pressing gently to seal and gather the pastry at the top. Make sure the cheese is fully enclosed to prevent leakage during cooking. Brush the entire pastry surface with the beaten egg to achieve a beautiful golden crust after cooking.
- Air fry the wrapped brie: Preheat your air fryer to 375ºF. Place the wrapped brie into the air fryer basket. Cook for 15 to 20 minutes until the pastry is puffed up and golden brown. The cheese inside will be melted and gooey.
- Serve: Carefully remove the baked brie from the air fryer and let it cool for a few minutes. Serve warm with crackers and apple slices for a delicious appetizer.
Notes
- Make sure to thaw the puff pastry completely before use to ensure easy handling and proper puffing.
- If you don’t have pecans, walnuts or almonds can be good substitutes.
- You can omit the cinnamon if you prefer a more straightforward sweet and nutty flavor.
- Let the baked brie cool slightly before serving to avoid burns from hot melted cheese.
- Air fryer times may vary slightly depending on the model, so start checking at 15 minutes.
