Ingredients
Scale
Potatoes
- 4 medium russet potatoes, peeled and cut into thin fries
Seasonings and Oil
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Toppings
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C), and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and for easy cleanup.
- Prepare Potatoes: In a large mixing bowl, toss the cut potato fries with olive oil, minced garlic, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until they are evenly coated with the seasoning and oil.
- Arrange Fries: Spread the seasoned fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they are not crowded to allow even cooking and crispiness.
- Bake Fries: Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake the fries for 25 to 30 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time to ensure they bake evenly and become golden brown and crispy.
- Add Parmesan Cheese: Once baked, remove the fries from the oven and immediately sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese on top. Toss gently to coat the fries evenly with the cheese as it melts.
- Garnish and Serve: Optionally, garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a burst of color and freshness. Serve the garlic Parmesan fries warm, perfect for dipping in your favorite sauce.
Notes
- For extra crispy fries, soak the cut potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes before baking to remove excess starch, then pat them dry thoroughly.
- You can use pre-shredded Parmesan cheese, but freshly grated Parmesan melts better and sticks nicely to the fries.
- These fries are delicious served with garlic aioli, ranch dressing, or classic ketchup for dipping.
