Description

Delight in these rich and creamy Banana Pudding Brownies, a perfect dessert layering fudgy chocolate brownies with smooth banana pudding and a light whipped topping. This unique treat combines classic comfort flavors into a decadent, no-fuss dessert that’s sure to impress.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Brownie Layer:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

For the Banana Pudding Layer:

  • 1 package (3.4 oz) instant banana pudding mix
  • 1 1/2 cups cold milk
  • 4 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup whipped topping or whipped cream
  • 1/2 cup crushed vanilla wafers

Optional Topping:

  • Extra crushed vanilla wafers
  • Banana slices
  • Drizzle of chocolate

Instructions

  1. Prepare Brownie Batter: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or grease it lightly. In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Whisk until smooth. Add cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir just until combined.
  2. Bake Brownies: Pour brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs. Let cool completely.
  3. Make Banana Pudding Layer: In a separate bowl, beat together the banana pudding mix and cold milk for 2 minutes until thickened. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Fold the pudding into the cream cheese, then gently fold in the whipped topping.
  4. Assemble Dessert: Spread the banana pudding layer evenly over the cooled brownies. Sprinkle crushed vanilla wafers on top.
  5. Chill and Serve: Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before slicing. Garnish with banana slices or extra whipped cream just before serving, if desired.

Notes

  • For an even more decadent treat, swirl some pudding into the brownie batter before baking.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator and enjoy within 3 days.
