Cauliflower Fritters
- 1 medium head of cauliflower, grated or finely chopped
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (or gluten-free breadcrumbs)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional for extra flavor)
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (for frying)
Instructions
- Prepare Cauliflower: Grate or finely chop the cauliflower into small pieces and transfer them into a large mixing bowl.
- Mix Ingredients: Add the eggs, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese if using, chopped parsley, minced garlic, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper to the bowl. Stir everything thoroughly until the mixture is evenly combined.
- Heat Oil: Place a large skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to warm up.
- Form Patties: Using a spoon, scoop portions of the cauliflower mixture and shape them gently into small patties. Carefully place each patty into the heated skillet.
- Fry Fritters: Cook each fritter for 3-4 minutes on one side until golden brown, then flip and cook the other side for an additional 3-4 minutes to crisp up and cook through.
- Drain Excess Oil: Once cooked, remove the fritters from the skillet and place them on paper towels to absorb any leftover oil.
- Serve: Enjoy the cauliflower fritters warm, paired with your favorite dipping sauce or served as a nutritious snack or side dish.
Notes
- For gluten-free version, substitute regular breadcrumbs with gluten-free breadcrumbs.
- Parmesan cheese is optional but adds a nice depth of flavor.
- Be careful not to overcrowd the skillet while frying to ensure even cooking.
- Leftovers can be reheated in a skillet or oven to retain crispiness.
- Add other herbs like chives or cilantro for variation.
