Description

These BBQ Chicken Crescent Rolls combine crispy breaded chicken fingers with tangy BBQ sauce and cheddar cheese, all wrapped in flaky crescent roll dough. Perfect as a quick, tasty appetizer or snack, they bake up golden and bubbling with cheesy BBQ goodness in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 8 breaded chicken fingers (frozen Tyson crispy chicken strips recommended)
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese, cut in half
  • 1 (8-oz) can refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (thin with a little water if needed)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 375ºF (190ºC) to preheat while you prepare the rolls.
  2. Prepare crescent rolls and BBQ sauce: Separate the refrigerated crescent roll dough into 8 individual triangles. Pour the BBQ sauce into a bowl; if the sauce is too thick for dipping, thin it out with a small amount of water for easier coating.
  3. Assemble the rolls: Place one half-slice of cheddar cheese on each crescent roll triangle. Dip each breaded chicken finger into the BBQ sauce so it’s well coated, then place it on top of the cheese on the dough triangle. Carefully roll up each crescent, enclosing the chicken and cheese inside.
  4. Arrange for baking: Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup. Place each rolled crescent seam-side down on the baking sheet to prevent unrolling during baking. Repeat with all chicken fingers and crescent dough.
  5. Bake until golden: Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 18 to 20 minutes, or until the crescent dough is golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute different types of cheese like pepper jack or mozzarella for extra flavor.
  • If you prefer, use homemade or your favorite brand of breaded chicken tenders.
  • Thinning the BBQ sauce with a little water helps it coat the chicken evenly and prevents the crescent roll dough from becoming soggy.
  • Serve these rolls warm with extra BBQ sauce or ranch dressing for dipping.
  • For a spicier kick, consider adding a dash of hot sauce to the BBQ sauce before dipping.
