Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 1½ cups fresh blackberries
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons)
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 4 cups cold water
- Ice cubes
- Lemon slices and extra blackberries for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Blend Blackberries: In a blender, combine the blackberries and ½ cup of water. Blend until smooth to release the juice and flavors.
- Strain Mixture: Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing gently to extract as much juice as possible while removing the seeds.
- Add Lemon Juice and Sugar: Stir in the freshly squeezed lemon juice and granulated sugar into the blackberry juice until the sugar is fully dissolved, creating a balanced sweet and tart base.
- Pour Remaining Water: Add the remaining 3½ cups of cold water to the pitcher and stir thoroughly to combine all the ingredients evenly.
- Taste and Adjust: Sample the lemonade and adjust the sweetness by adding more sugar if desired. Stir well to incorporate.
- Chill and Serve: Refrigerate the lemonade until well chilled. Serve over ice cubes and garnish with lemon slices and extra blackberries for an elegant presentation.
Notes
- For a sparkling twist, substitute 1–2 cups of the water with sparkling water just before serving.
- You can substitute honey or agave syrup for the granulated sugar as a natural sweetener alternative.
