Description

These cheesy and savory bagel bites are a quick and delicious homemade snack or appetizer featuring mini bagels topped with marinara sauce, melted mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, and optional pepperoni or sausage for added flavor. Perfect for a party, lunch, or anytime craving.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 4 mini bagels (halved)
  • ½ cup pizza or marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Optional Toppings

  • 12 slices pepperoni
  • ¼ cup chopped cooked sausage or crumbled bacon

Seasonings & Garnish

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Chopped fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easier cleanup.
  2. Prepare the bagels: Arrange the mini bagel halves cut side up on the prepared baking sheet. Optionally, bake them for 3–4 minutes to lightly toast the bagels for a crisper texture.
  3. Add sauce and toppings: Spread about 1 tablespoon of pizza or marinara sauce evenly over each bagel half. Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese and a little grated Parmesan cheese on top.
  4. Add optional meats and seasonings: If using, add pepperoni slices and chopped cooked sausage or bacon on top of the cheese. Sprinkle each bagel with Italian seasoning and garlic powder for extra flavor.
  5. Bake the bagel bites: Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 8–10 minutes, until the cheese is fully melted, bubbly, and the edges of the bagels turn golden brown.
  6. Finish and serve: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with chopped fresh basil or parsley if desired, then serve warm as a tasty snack or appetizer.

Notes

  • These bagel bites make a great quick lunch, snack, or party appetizer.
  • Use your choice of plain, everything, or whole wheat mini bagels based on your preference.
  • You can freeze the assembled bagel bites before baking; bake from frozen with an additional 2–3 minutes added to the baking time.
