Description

These chicken alfredo air fryer calzones are a quick and delicious twist on a classic Italian favorite. Stuffed with creamy alfredo sauce, tender chicken, mozzarella, and parmesan cheese, these golden pockets cook up crisp and melty in the air fryer. Perfect for a comforting dinner or a grab-and-go lunch with minimal prep.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough

  • 1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • Flour for dusting

Filling

  • 1 cup cooked shredded or diced chicken
  • 1/2 cup alfredo sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning

For brushing

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: Lightly flour a clean surface and divide the pizza dough into 4 equal portions. Roll each portion into a 6–7 inch circle.
  2. Make the Filling: In a bowl, combine the cooked chicken, alfredo sauce, mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning thoroughly.
  3. Assemble the Calzones: Spoon the filling mixture onto one half of each dough circle, leaving a border around the edge. Fold the dough over the filling to enclose it and press the edges together, sealing tightly using a fork.
  4. Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3 minutes to ensure even cooking.
  5. Brush the Calzones: Lightly brush the tops of each calzone with olive oil or melted butter to achieve a golden, crispy crust.
  6. Cook the Calzones: Place 2 calzones at a time in the air fryer basket (depending on size). Cook for 8–10 minutes until the calzones are golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Repeat and Serve: Repeat cooking with the remaining calzones. Allow the calzones to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • You can use rotisserie chicken for convenience and enhanced flavor.
  • Add spinach or sautéed mushrooms to the filling for extra flavor and texture.
  • Serve with extra alfredo sauce or marinara sauce for dipping.
