Pasta:

  • 12 ounces penne pasta, cooked al dente

Chicken Mixture:

  • 3 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded or cubed
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Toppings:

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Garnish:

  • Chopped fresh basil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Cook Pasta: Cook penne pasta according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
  3. Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix pasta, chicken, marinara sauce, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, and half of the mozzarella. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Transfer to Baking Dish: Put the mixture in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Top with remaining cheeses.
  5. Add Breadcrumbs: Combine breadcrumbs with olive oil and sprinkle over the casserole.
  6. Bake: Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  7. Rest and Serve: Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with basil if desired.
