Description

This Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie features a crunchy chocolate cookie crust filled with a smooth, creamy peanut butter and cream cheese filling, all topped with light whipped topping. A no-bake, chilled dessert that perfectly balances rich chocolate with peanut butter sweetness, ideal for parties or a delicious treat any time.

Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 25 chocolate sandwich cookies (such as Oreos)
  • 5 tbsp. salted butter, melted

Filling

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar
  • 8 oz. whipped topping (such as Cool Whip), thawed

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the crust.
  2. Prepare Crust: Place the chocolate sandwich cookies in a food processor and pulse until finely crushed, about 1 minute. Transfer the crumbs to a mixing bowl, then pour the melted butter over them. Stir well with a fork until the crumbs are evenly coated. Press the cookie mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a pie plate to form the crust. Bake in the preheated oven for 5 to 7 minutes until set. Remove and allow to cool completely.
  3. Make Filling: In a stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment, beat the peanut butter and softened cream cheese together until creamy and smooth, ensuring no lumps remain. Gradually add the powdered sugar, continuing to beat until the mixture is smooth and fully combined. Finally, fold in the thawed whipped topping and beat gently until smooth, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.
  4. Assemble Pie: Pour the peanut butter filling into the cooled crust. Use a spatula or knife to smooth out the top evenly.
  5. Chill: Refrigerate the pie for at least 4 hours to let it firm up before serving for the best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • Make sure the cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps in the filling.
  • Press the crust firmly into the pie dish to help it hold together when sliced.
  • Chilling the pie thoroughly is essential for the filling to set properly.
  • For added texture, consider sprinkling chopped peanuts on top before chilling.
  • This pie is best served cold and consumed within 2-3 days for freshness.
