Ingredients
Scale
Meat & Dairy
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 4 slices bacon
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Vegetables & Produce
- 1 cup iceberg lettuce, chopped
- 1 medium tomato, sliced
- 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced
Condiments & Others
- 1/2 cup ranch dressing
- 4 sandwich buns or brioche rolls
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Cook Bacon: Preheat a skillet over medium heat and cook bacon slices until crispy. Remove the bacon and place it on paper towels to drain excess grease. Once cooled, chop the bacon into bite-sized pieces.
- Cook Chicken: While the bacon cooks, season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper. Heat olive oil in another skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken breasts for 5-6 minutes per side until fully cooked through and golden brown. Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes.
- Mix Filling: Chop the rested chicken into chunky pieces and return them to the same skillet. Stir in the ranch dressing, chopped crispy bacon, and shredded cheddar cheese. Allow the cheese to melt slightly while stirring gently to combine all ingredients well.
- Toast Buns: Lightly toast the sandwich buns if desired to add texture and warmth.
- Assemble Sandwiches: Layer chopped iceberg lettuce, tomato slices, and thinly sliced red onion on the bottom halves of the buns. Spoon the chicken bacon ranch mixture over the veggies, then top with the other halves of the buns. Serve immediately while warm and enjoy.
Notes
- For a spicy twist, add a few dashes of hot sauce to the chicken mixture or swap the cheddar cheese for pepper jack cheese.
- You can prep the ingredients ahead of time to save even more time during assembly.
- Use Greek yogurt-based ranch dressing for a lighter version with fewer calories.
- Vegetarian option: Substitute chicken and bacon with crispy tempeh or smoked tofu and follow the same assembly steps.
