Ingredients
Scale
Pastillas Mixture
- 1 1/2 cups crushed chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos, filling included)
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 1/2 cups powdered milk
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Coating
- Extra crushed cookies or powdered milk (for rolling)
Instructions
- Combine wet ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, mix the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract (if using) until smooth and well blended.
- Add powdered milk: Gradually stir in the powdered milk into the condensed milk mixture until a thick, dough-like consistency forms.
- Fold in cookies: Gently fold in the crushed chocolate sandwich cookies until evenly distributed throughout the dough. If the mixture is too sticky, add a bit more powdered milk until it is firm but pliable.
- Shape pastillas: Scoop and roll the dough into small bite-sized logs or balls, about 1 to 1.5 inches in size.
- Coat the pastillas: Roll each ball or log in extra crushed cookies or powdered milk to evenly coat the surface for added texture and flavor.
- Chill: Arrange the pastillas on a tray and place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to firm up and set.
- Serve or wrap: Once chilled, individually wrap the pastillas in wax paper or serve directly chilled as a sweet treat.
Notes
- Store pastillas in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week to maintain freshness.
- Perfect for gifting or party treats due to their individual wrapping.
- Try using different flavored sandwich cookies to create unique variations.
