Ingredients
Scale
Crescent Rolls
- 1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough (or 1 tube of crescent roll dough)
Filling
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
- 1/2 cup cooked crab meat (imitation crab works as well)
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Finishing
- 1 tablespoon melted butter (for brushing, optional)
- Fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
- Prepare the Filling: In a medium bowl, thoroughly combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard if using, lemon juice, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until smooth and uniform. Season with salt and pepper to your taste.
- Prepare the Crescent Rolls: Unroll the crescent roll dough onto the lined baking sheet. Separate the dough into the individual triangles along the perforated lines.
- Fill the Crescent Rolls: Spoon a generous amount of the crab and cheese filling onto the center of each crescent dough triangle. Fold the dough edges over the filling and roll tightly, sealing the ends to prevent filling from leaking. You may shape them into pocket or crescent shapes according to your preference.
- Bake the Crescent Rolls: Optionally, brush the tops of the filled rolls with melted butter to enhance flavor and promote a golden crust. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the rolls are puffed up and golden brown.
- Serve: Remove from oven and allow to cool for a minute. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm as a delightful appetizer, snack, or side dish.
Notes
- Imitation crab can be used as a budget-friendly alternative to real crab meat.
- For a spicier twist, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chopped jalapeños to the filling.
- If you prefer a different cheese, mozzarella or pepper jack can be substituted for cheddar.
- Brush with egg wash instead of butter for a shinier, golden finish.
- These rolls are best served warm but can be reheated in the oven for a few minutes if made ahead.
