Description

Creamy Ranch Chicken is a comforting one-pan dish featuring tender seared chicken breasts smothered in a rich and flavorful creamy ranch sauce. This easy recipe comes together with simple ingredients and yields juicy, baked chicken perfect for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Sauce

  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the chicken after searing.
  2. Season and sear chicken: In a large skillet over medium heat, warm the olive oil. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Place the chicken in the hot skillet and sear each side for 4-5 minutes until browned and flavorful.
  3. Make the creamy ranch sauce: Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add the cream cheese, sour cream, chicken broth, and ranch seasoning mix. Stir continuously until the sauce becomes smooth and well combined.
  4. Coat chicken in sauce: Return the seared chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the creamy ranch sauce over the chicken to coat them evenly.
  5. Bake the chicken: Transfer the entire skillet to the preheated oven. Bake the chicken for 25-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C), ensuring the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
  6. Garnish and serve: Once baked, remove the skillet from the oven and garnish the chicken with freshly chopped parsley. Serve hot alongside your choice of sides for a delicious meal.

Notes

  • Make sure the cream cheese is softened for easier mixing into the sauce.
  • If you don’t have a skillet safe for the oven, transfer the chicken and sauce to a baking dish before baking.
  • Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the chicken for best results.
  • For a lighter option, use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream.
  • This dish pairs well with steamed vegetables, rice, or mashed potatoes.
