Ingredients
Scale
Beef Mixture
- 1 ½ pounds ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
Soup & Broth
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 (10.5 oz) can cheddar cheese soup
Seasonings & Extras
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 8 oz egg noodles, uncooked
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Brown the Ground Beef and Onions: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion together until the meat is browned and the onions are soft, approximately 6 to 8 minutes. After cooking, drain any excess grease to prevent a greasy dish and transfer the mixture to the crockpot.
- Add Remaining Ingredients to Crockpot: Add the minced garlic, beef broth, cream of mushroom soup, cheddar cheese soup, Worcestershire sauce, and black pepper into the crockpot with the beef and onions. Stir everything well to combine all the flavors evenly.
- Slow Cook: Cover the crockpot and cook on low heat for 4 to 5 hours, or on high heat for 2 to 3 hours. This allows the flavors to meld and the meat mixture to become tender and flavorful.
- Add Noodles and Cook: About 30 minutes before serving, stir in the uncooked egg noodles and cover the crockpot again. Cook until the noodles are tender, stirring once or twice during this time to prevent sticking and ensure even cooking.
- Finish with Cheese: Once the noodles are cooked through, stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until it melts fully, creating a creamy, cheesy sauce throughout the dish.
- Serve and Garnish: Serve the cheesy beef and noodles hot, garnished with chopped parsley if desired for a touch of freshness and color.
Notes
- For added flavor and nutrition, mix in frozen peas or corn during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
- If you prefer different pasta shapes, rotini or elbow noodles make great substitutes for egg noodles.
- Drain excess grease thoroughly after browning the beef to avoid a greasy texture in the final dish.
