Ingredients
Scale
Yogurt Base
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (or vanilla yogurt for sweetness)
- 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional, for added sweetness)
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract (optional, for flavor enhancement)
Mix-ins
- 1/2 cup fresh blueberries
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (or chopped dark chocolate)
Instructions
- Prepare the yogurt mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the plain Greek yogurt with honey or maple syrup and vanilla extract if using. Stir well until smooth and evenly mixed to create a slightly sweetened and flavored yogurt base.
- Add blueberries and chocolate: Gently fold the fresh blueberries and dark chocolate chips into the yogurt mixture, ensuring the ingredients are well distributed but the blueberries remain whole to maintain their texture.
- Portion into molds: Spoon the mixture into silicone molds or a lined mini muffin tin to create bite-sized portions. Level the tops with the back of the spoon for even bites.
- Freeze: Place the molds or tray in the freezer and let the bites freeze for at least 2 hours, or until fully set and firm enough to pop out easily.
- Serve and store: Once frozen solid, remove the bites from the molds and enjoy immediately as a refreshing snack. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the freezer to keep fresh for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
- Using vanilla yogurt instead of plain yogurt will add natural sweetness without needing extra honey or syrup.
- For a sweeter touch, consider drizzling a little extra honey on top before freezing.
- Feel free to substitute blueberries with other berries like raspberries or chopped strawberries.
- Use dark chocolate with at least 70% cocoa for a rich flavor and added antioxidants.
- These frozen bites are best enjoyed within two weeks for optimal freshness and texture.
