Description
This Easy Sausage Dip is a creamy, cheesy, and slightly spicy appetizer perfect for parties or casual gatherings. Made with browned sausage, cream cheese, cheddar, and zesty Rotel tomatoes, this dip bakes to golden perfection and pairs wonderfully with chips or crackers.
Ingredients
Scale
Meat
- 1 lb ground breakfast sausage (or your preferred sausage)
Dairy
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Vegetables & Spices
- 1 can (10 oz) Rotel (diced tomatoes with green chilies)
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the dip evenly.
- Cook the Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground breakfast sausage until it’s browned and crumbled. Once cooked, drain any excess fat to avoid greasiness in the dip.
- Mix the Dip: In a large bowl, combine the cooked sausage, cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, entire can of Rotel (including the juices), garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir everything thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Bake: Transfer the dip mixture into a small baking dish, spreading it out evenly. Place it in the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes, or until the dip is bubbly and lightly golden on top.
- Serve: Allow the dip to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with tortilla chips, toasted bread, or your favorite crackers for dipping.
Notes
- You can substitute the breakfast sausage with spicy sausage or turkey sausage for different flavors.
- For a lighter option, use reduced-fat cream cheese and cheese.
- Leftover dip can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven or microwave.
- Add jalapeños or hot sauce for extra heat.
- This dip also works well in a slow cooker on low for 1-2 hours to keep warm during parties.
