Description

These Eyeball Jello Shots are a fun and festive treat perfect for Halloween parties or spooky gatherings. Made with strawberry gelatin, vodka, and topped with gummy eyeball candies, they deliver a playful yet delicious punch. Easy to prepare and chill, these jello shots set up firm and are sure to be a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale

Jello Mixture

  • 3 ounce box Strawberry Jell-O gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • ½ cup cold water
  • ½ cup vodka

Garnish

  • 12 gummy eyeball candies

Instructions

  1. Dissolve Gelatin: In a large bowl with a pour spout, add the strawberry gelatin powder and boiling water. Whisk vigorously until the gelatin is completely dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
  2. Add Liquids: Stir in the cold water and vodka mixture gently but thoroughly to combine all liquids evenly.
  3. Fill Jello Shot Cups: Arrange twelve 2-ounce jello shot cups on a rimmed tray to catch any spills. Slowly pour the strawberry gelatin mixture into each cup, filling to the fill line and leaving about 1/8 inch of space from the top.
  4. Initial Refrigeration: Place the tray with the filled cups into the refrigerator for 1 to 1 ½ hours, or until the jello shots are partially set and firm to the touch.
  5. Add Eyeball Garnish and Finish Setting: Carefully place one gummy eyeball candy on the surface of each partially set jello shot. Return the tray to the refrigerator and chill for an additional 1 ½ hours up to overnight until fully firm.
  6. Store and Serve: Once completely set, place lids on each jello shot cup if available and keep refrigerated until ready to serve. Enjoy your fun, spooky eyeball jello shots!

Notes

  • Use a tray with raised edges to prevent spills in the refrigerator.
  • You can substitute vodka with any preferred clear spirit or use non-alcoholic vodka for a family-friendly version.
  • Chilling time can be extended overnight for firmer jello shots.
  • Gummy eyeball candies can be found at specialty candy stores or online, or substituted with other gummy candies for different effects.
  • Ensure gelatin is completely dissolved to avoid grainy texture in the shots.
