Description

A decadent and easy-to-make Garlic Butter Steak and Brie Croissant Melt featuring tender seared steak, creamy melted Brie cheese, and flavorful garlic butter, all nestled inside buttery croissants toasted to golden perfection. Perfect for a sumptuous brunch or quick gourmet lunch.

Ingredients

Scale

Steak and Seasoning

  • 8 oz sirloin or ribeye steak, thinly sliced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Cheese and Bread

  • 4 oz soft Brie cheese, sliced
  • 4 fresh croissants

Garlic Butter

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced

Garnish

  • Fresh thyme or parsley, chopped for garnish
  • Optional: mustard for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Garlic Butter: Mince the fresh garlic and mix thoroughly with the softened unsalted butter. Set aside to allow the flavors to meld while you prepare other ingredients.
  2. Cook the Steak: Season the thinly sliced steak with salt and black pepper. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and melt a small amount of the garlic butter. Cook the steak slices for a few minutes until browned and tender, then remove from heat and let them rest.
  3. Assemble the Croissants: Slice each croissant horizontally without cutting all the way through to form a pocket. Spread a generous layer of the garlic butter on both inside surfaces. Layer with cooked steak slices followed by slices of creamy Brie cheese.
  4. Melt and Toast: Place the assembled croissants back onto the skillet or under a broiler. Cook gently until the Brie starts to melt and the croissants turn golden and crispy on the outside, watching carefully to avoid burning.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle freshly chopped thyme or parsley over the croissants for color and freshness. Serve warm, optionally with mustard on the side, and enjoy your flavorful steak and Brie croissant melt.

Notes

  • Use a high-quality steak like sirloin or ribeye for best flavor and tenderness.
  • Soft Brie cheese melts beautifully, so avoid using aged or hard Brie varieties.
  • Adjust garlic butter quantity based on your preference for garlic intensity.
  • When toasting, keep a close eye to prevent the croissants from burning, especially under the broiler.
  • Optional mustard on the side adds a subtle tangy contrast to the rich cheese and steak.
  • Fresh herbs add brightness but can be omitted if unavailable.
