Ingredients
Scale
For the Chicken Bake
- 1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 cups cooked chicken breast (shredded or chopped)
- 1/2 cup crispy bacon (chopped)
- 1/2 cup Caesar dressing
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
- Prepare the dough: On a lightly floured surface, divide the pizza dough into two equal portions. Roll each piece into an 8×10 inch rectangle with even thickness.
- Mix the chicken filling: In a large bowl, combine the cooked chicken with Caesar dressing, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir well to evenly coat the chicken.
- Assemble the bake: Spread half of the chicken mixture down the center of each dough rectangle, leaving space on sides. Top each with mozzarella cheese, chopped bacon, and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.
- Seal the dough: Fold the long sides of the dough over the filling and pinch the seam tightly to seal. Tuck in the ends to encase the filling completely. Place the rolls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Prepare for baking: Brush the tops of each roll with olive oil and sprinkle additional Parmesan cheese on top for a golden, flavorful crust.
- Bake: Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 20–25 minutes or until the exterior is a golden brown color and the dough is cooked through.
- Rest and serve: Remove from oven and allow the bakes to rest for 5 minutes before slicing to help set the filling and prevent spillage. Serve warm.
Notes
- For a crispier crust, bake the chicken bakes on a preheated pizza stone or steel.
- Swap Caesar dressing for ranch or garlic aioli to vary the flavor profile.
- These chicken bakes reheat well in both an air fryer and an oven for leftovers.
