Description

This Keto Burrito is a delicious low-carb twist on the classic Mexican favorite, packed with seasoned ground beef, creamy avocado, and melty cheddar cheese wrapped in a keto-friendly tortilla. Perfect for a satisfying meal that stays within your carbohydrate limits.

Ingredients

Scale

Meat and Seasoning

  • 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Wrap and Fillings

  • 4 large keto-friendly tortillas or low-carb wraps
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup salsa (sugar-free if needed)
  • 1/2 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/4 cup chopped red onion (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Meat: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, about 5–7 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed, then stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2–3 minutes to blend flavors.
  2. Prepare the Tortillas: Warm the keto tortillas slightly to make them more pliable for rolling without breaking.
  3. Assemble Burritos: Spoon the seasoned meat evenly into each wrap. Top with shredded cheddar cheese, avocado slices, sour cream, salsa, shredded lettuce, and red onion if using.
  4. Roll the Burritos: Roll up the tortillas tightly into burritos to keep all ingredients contained.
  5. Optional Sear: For a crispy finish, sear the burritos seam-side down in a skillet for 1–2 minutes until the wrap is slightly browned and crisp.

Notes

  • You can substitute the ground meat with grilled chicken or steak for variety.
  • To reduce carbs even further, skip the tortilla and make a burrito bowl with all fillings served over lettuce.
  • Use sugar-free salsa to keep the recipe fully keto compliant.
