Description

A creamy and zesty Lemon Alfredo with Chicken & Prosciutto recipe that combines tender bowtie pasta with a rich Alfredo sauce infused with fresh lemon juice and zest, savory Greek-seasoned chicken, and crispy prosciutto for a delightful, quick-to-make Italian-inspired dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Pasta

  • 8 oz bowtie pasta, cooked and drained

Meats

  • 3 oz thinly sliced prosciutto
  • 2½ cups cooked chopped chicken

Seasonings & Aromatics

  • 2 tsp olive oil (divided)
  • 1 tsp Greek seasoning
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 medium lemon, juiced and zested

Sauces & Cheese

  • 1 (15-oz) jar Alfredo sauce
  • Parmesan cheese, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the bowtie pasta according to the package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Crisp Prosciutto: While the pasta cooks, heat 2 teaspoons of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the thinly sliced prosciutto and sauté until it turns crispy, about 5 minutes. Remove the prosciutto from the pan and set aside on paper towels to drain.
  3. Prepare Chicken & Sauce: In the same skillet over medium heat, add the cooked chopped chicken. Sprinkle with Greek seasoning and add the minced garlic. Cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in the Alfredo sauce, lemon juice, and add the lemon zest. Stir well to combine all ingredients and reduce heat to low to keep the sauce warm without boiling.
  4. Combine Pasta & Sauce: Toss the cooked pasta into the skillet with the lemon Alfredo sauce, ensuring the pasta is well coated and heated through.
  5. Serve: Divide the pasta into individual bowls. Top each serving with the crispy prosciutto and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese for added flavor and texture. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • This dish is best served immediately to enjoy the contrast between the creamy sauce and crispy prosciutto.
  • You can substitute bowtie pasta with penne or fettuccine if preferred.
  • For a lighter version, use a low-fat Alfredo sauce or substitute part of the Alfredo with Greek yogurt.
  • Adding fresh parsley or basil as garnish can enhance the dish’s aroma and presentation.
  • Ensure not to overcook the garlic to avoid bitterness.
