Ingredients
Scale
Pie Crust
- 1 (9-inch) frozen deep-dish pie crust
Filling
- 3 large eggs
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 cup real maple syrup
- 3 Tbsp butter, melted
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ tsp salt
- 2 cups pecan halves
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375ºF (190ºC) to ensure it’s at the right temperature for baking the pie evenly.
- Prepare the Filling: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugar until the mixture is smooth and well combined. Then add in the maple syrup, melted butter, vanilla extract, salt, and pecan halves. Stir gently until all ingredients are incorporated.
- Assemble the Pie: Pour the prepared pecan filling into the frozen deep-dish pie crust, ensuring the nuts are evenly distributed throughout the filling.
- Bake the Pie: Place the pie on the middle rack of the oven and bake for 30 to 40 minutes. The filling should be set but slightly jiggly in the center and the crust golden brown.
- Cool: Remove the pie from the oven and transfer it to a wire rack. Allow it to cool completely for about 1 hour; this helps the filling to firm up for clean slices.
- Storage: Once cooled, store the pie in the refrigerator to maintain freshness. It can be served chilled or at room temperature.
Notes
- For a more intense maple flavor, use pure grade A amber maple syrup.
- Allow the pie to cool completely before slicing to ensure clean cuts.
- You can substitute the frozen pie crust with a homemade crust if preferred.
- Store leftover pie in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Serving warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream adds a delicious contrast.
