Ingredients
Scale
Sausage Mixture
- 1 (16-oz) package maple sausage
- 1 (8-oz) package cream cheese, room temperature
- 3 Tbsp real maple syrup
Dough
- 2 (8-oz) cans refrigerated crescent rolls
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375ºF (190ºC) to ensure it’s ready for baking the crescents.
- Cook Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the maple sausage until it is no longer pink and crumbled thoroughly. Once cooked, drain off any excess fat to avoid greasiness.
- Mix Filling: In a bowl, combine the cooked maple sausage, softened cream cheese, and real maple syrup. Mix well until the ingredients are fully blended into a creamy and flavorful filling.
- Prepare Dough: Separate the refrigerated crescent rolls into triangles as per the package instructions. Then cut each triangle in half lengthwise to create 32 smaller triangles.
- Fill and Roll: Using a small cookie scoop or spoon, place a portion of the sausage mixture onto the wide end of each small crescent triangle. Carefully roll each triangle from the wide end to the tip, sealing in the filling.
- Bake: Place the filled crescents on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until the crescents are golden brown and cooked through.
Notes
- Make sure the cream cheese is at room temperature for easier mixing.
- Drain excess fat from the sausage to prevent the crescents from becoming greasy.
- For an extra touch, brush the tops with a little melted butter before baking to enhance browning.
- Serve warm for the best flavor and texture.
- These crescent bites can be prepared ahead and refrigerated before baking; just increase baking time by a couple of minutes if baking cold.
