Description

Meat Lovers Pizza Tacos are a delicious fusion dish combining the hearty flavors of classic meat pizza toppings with the convenience and fun of tacos. Ground beef, pepperoni, bacon, sausage, and a blend of veggies are sautéed with Italian seasonings, then wrapped in warm tortillas smeared with pizza sauce, topped with mozzarella and olives, and baked to bubbly perfection. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a crowd-pleasing appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale

Meat Mixture

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni, diced
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup sliced sausage

Vegetables & Seasonings

  • 1/4 cup bell pepper, diced
  • 1/4 cup red onion, diced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Other Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup black olives, sliced
  • 8 tortillas

Instructions

  1. Cook Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat to keep the mixture lean.
  2. Sauté Mix: Add diced pepperoni, crumbled bacon, sliced sausage, diced bell pepper, diced red onion, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Sauté everything together for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally to combine flavors and soften the vegetables.
  3. Preheat Oven: Set the oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for warming the tortillas and baking the tacos.
  4. Warm Tortillas: Lay the tortillas on a baking sheet and warm them in the preheated oven for 2 to 3 minutes, just until they become soft and pliable.
  5. Spread Sauce: Remove the warmed tortillas from the oven and spread a generous layer of pizza sauce evenly over each tortilla.
  6. Add Toppings: Distribute the meat and vegetable mixture evenly across the tortillas. Then sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese and sliced black olives on top of each.
  7. Bake Tacos: Return the loaded tortillas to the oven and bake for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Rest And Serve: Let the tacos rest for a minute before serving to allow the flavors to meld together for the best taste experience.

Notes

  • You can substitute different types of sausage or add mushrooms for extra flavor.
  • For a spicier kick, add crushed red pepper flakes or hot sauce to the meat mixture.
  • Use corn tortillas for a gluten-free option, but note that warming times may vary.
  • Leftover taco filling can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days and used in wraps or salads.
  • To make this recipe vegetarian, substitute the meats with plant-based sausage and pepperoni alternatives.
