Ingredients
Scale
Wet Ingredients
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk (300 ml Canada, 14 oz US)
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups dried coconut (fine or medium cut)
- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
- Additional graham cracker crumbs for rolling the cookie balls
Instructions
- Melt the Butter: In a medium saucepan, gently melt the butter over low heat. Once the butter is fully melted, remove the pan from the heat to prevent overcooking or burning.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: Stir the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract into the melted butter until you achieve a smooth, well-blended mixture.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, dried coconut, and chocolate chips thoroughly.
- Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures: Pour the butter and condensed milk mixture over the dry ingredients. Stir everything together until the mixture is evenly combined and forms a sticky dough.
- Chill the Mixture: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about one hour. This helps the mixture firm up, making it easier to shape.
- Shape the Cookie Balls: After chilling, scoop out portions of the mixture and roll them into approximately 1 1/4-inch diameter balls using your hands.
- Coat with Graham Crumbs: Roll each shaped ball in additional graham cracker crumbs to coat them evenly, adding a delicious crunchy exterior.
- Chill Again: Place the coated cookie balls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Refrigerate until the balls are firm and set.
- Store: Transfer the finished Moose Farts into an airtight container and refrigerate until ready to serve to keep them fresh and maintain texture.
Notes
- Ensure the butter is melted gently over low heat to prevent burning.
- The coconut can be fine or medium cut depending on texture preference.
- For best results, chill the mixture well before shaping to make rolling easier.
- Use parchment paper when chilling the cookie balls to prevent sticking.
- These treats should be refrigerated and consumed within a week for optimal freshness.
