Ingredients
Scale
Ingredients
- 1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh lemon juice (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prepare for roasting.
- Toss Brussels Sprouts: In a large bowl, combine the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder, tossing until all pieces are evenly coated for balanced flavor.
- Arrange and Roast: Spread the Brussels sprouts cut-side down on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. Roast for 20–25 minutes until they become tender and develop a golden brown color on the edges.
- Add Parmesan: During the last 5 minutes of roasting, sprinkle the grated Parmesan evenly over the Brussels sprouts. Return to the oven to let the cheese melt and crisp beautifully.
- Serve: Remove from oven and serve warm. Optionally, add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice to brighten the flavors before serving.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, broil the Brussels sprouts for 1–2 minutes at the end of cooking.
- Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
- Drizzle with balsamic glaze for a touch of sweetness and depth.
