Ingredients
Scale
Base and Toppings
- 1 (13.8-oz) can refrigerated pizza dough
- 1 (15-oz) jar pizza sauce
- 12 slices mozzarella cheese (3 slices per pot pie)
- Pizza toppings (your choice: pepperoni, bell peppers, mushrooms, olives, etc.)
Finishing
- 2 Tbsp melted butter
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425ºF (220ºC) to ensure it’s at the right temperature when you’re ready to bake the pot pies.
- Prepare Dough: Remove the refrigerated pizza dough from its can and cut it into 4 equal squares to fit over the ramekins.
- Assemble Cheese Layer and Toppings: Spray the bottom and inside sides of four ramekins or oven-safe bowls with cooking spray. Line each ramekin with three slices of mozzarella cheese, overlapping the slices to cover the bottom and sides completely. Add your favorite pizza toppings over the cheese.
- Add Sauce and Cover: Ladle pizza sauce over the toppings, filling each ramekin almost to the top. Then spray the outside rim of the ramekin with cooking spray, stretch one square of dough over the top, allowing it to hang over the edges.
- Prepare for Baking: Place the assembled ramekins on a baking sheet. Brush the dough on top with melted butter and sprinkle the Italian seasoning evenly over the dough crust.
- Bake: Bake the pot pies in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until the dough turns golden brown and crispy.
- Serve: Remove the ramekins from the oven and invert each pot pie onto a plate. Carefully lift off the ramekin to reveal your individual pizza pot pie. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- You can customize the pizza toppings to your preference, such as pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, bell peppers, olives, or onions.
- Using cooking spray inside the ramekin helps prevent sticking and makes lifting the pot pie easier.
- Brush the dough with melted butter and sprinkle Italian seasoning to add extra flavor and a golden crust.
- If you don’t have ramekins, small oven-safe bowls or custard cups will work as alternatives.
- For a crispier crust, you can broil the pot pies for 1-2 minutes at the end of baking, watching carefully to avoid burning.
