Description

Delightful and elegant pomegranate and goat cheese phyllo bites that combine creamy chèvre, sweet honey, fresh thyme, and jewel-like pomegranate arils inside crisp, golden phyllo shells. Perfect as an appetizer or party snack, these bites are quick to prepare and sure to impress guests with their vibrant flavors and beautiful presentation.

Ingredients

Scale

Phyllo Bites

  • 12 frozen phyllo shells
  • 4 tablespoons goat cheese (chèvre)
  • 1/2 cup pomegranate arils
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare it for baking the phyllo cups.
  2. Assemble the Phyllo Cups: Place about 1 teaspoon of goat cheese into each frozen phyllo shell. Add a small pinch of fresh thyme to each and drizzle approximately 1/8 teaspoon of honey over the cheese in every cup to enhance the flavor.
  3. Bake: Arrange the filled phyllo shells evenly on a baking sheet. Bake them in the preheated oven for 6-7 minutes or until the goat cheese is warmed through and the phyllo shells turn slightly golden and crisp.
  4. Add Pomegranate: Remove the phyllo bites from the oven and immediately top each with an extra pinch of fresh thyme and about 1 teaspoon of pomegranate arils to add a fresh burst of flavor and color.
  5. Serve: Serve these delicious phyllo bites warm or at room temperature as a perfect finger food for parties or appetizers.

Notes

  • You can prepare these bites ahead of time and bake just before serving to keep phyllo shells crisp.
  • Substitute fresh thyme with rosemary or mint for a different flavor profile.
  • If you cannot find frozen phyllo shells, you can use fresh phyllo dough shaped into small cups and baked beforehand.
  • For a vegan alternative, replace goat cheese with a plant-based cheese substitute.
