Description

These Roast Beef Sliders are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or meal option, featuring tender roast beef, melted cheese, and optional caramelized onions nestled inside soft slider buns. Brushed with garlic butter and baked to perfection, these sliders are perfect for gatherings or quick dinners.

Ingredients

Scale

Slider Base

  • 12 slider buns

Filling

  • 1 pound thinly sliced roast beef
  • 12 slices cheese (provolone, Swiss, or cheddar)
  • 1/2 cup caramelized onions (optional)

Sauces & Toppings

  • 1/4 cup horseradish sauce or Dijon mustard sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven. Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it reaches the perfect temperature for baking the sliders evenly.
  2. Prepare the buns. Slice the slider buns horizontally in half and arrange the bottom halves evenly in a baking dish, creating the base for your sliders.
  3. Layer the ingredients. Spread your choice of horseradish sauce or Dijon mustard on the bottom halves of the buns. Add a layer of thinly sliced roast beef, place a slice of cheese on top, and, if desired, add caramelized onions for extra flavor.
  4. Top and season. Place the top halves of the buns over the layered ingredients. Combine the melted butter with garlic powder and brush this mixture evenly over the tops of the buns. Sprinkle poppy seeds on top if you prefer an added crunch and visual appeal.
  5. Bake. Cover the baking dish with foil and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for 10 minutes until the cheese melts. For a golden and crispier top, remove the foil during the last 2 minutes of baking.
  6. Serve. Remove the sliders from the oven and serve them warm immediately to enjoy the melt-in-your-mouth flavors at their best.

Notes

  • You can customize the cheese type to your liking—provolone, Swiss, or cheddar all work beautifully.
  • Caramelized onions add a sweet depth but are optional if you’re short on time.
  • Brush the tops with garlic butter generously for enhanced flavor.
  • If you prefer a spicier kick, consider mixing some hot sauce with the horseradish or Dijon mustard sauce.
  • These sliders are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven but can be reheated covered to maintain moisture.
