Description

These S’mores Rice Krispies Treats combine the classic campfire flavors of chocolate, marshmallows, and graham crackers with crispy cereal for a delightful no-bake dessert that’s easy to make and perfect for sharing.

Ingredients

Scale

Base

  • 6 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1 (12-ounce) bag jumbo marshmallows
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Cereals and Add-ins

  • 4 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 2 cups Golden Grahams cereal
  • 2 1/2 cups mini marshmallows (divided)
  • 4 Hershey bars (broken into pieces)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pan: Line a 9×9 inch baking dish with parchment paper or lightly butter it to prevent sticking and make removal easier.
  2. Melt butter and marshmallows: In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the salted butter. Once melted, add the jumbo marshmallows and stir continuously until the marshmallows are completely smooth and melted.
  3. Add vanilla and cereals: Remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in the vanilla extract. Then, mix in Rice Krispies, Golden Grahams, and 1 1/2 cups of mini marshmallows evenly to combine all ingredients well.
  4. Layer the first half: Spread half of the cereal mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish. Next, sprinkle half of the Hershey bar pieces and mini marshmallows on top of this first layer.
  5. Add the second layer: Carefully spread the remaining cereal mixture on top, pressing gently to ensure it holds together but is not compressed too firmly. Then, finish by adding the remaining Hershey bar pieces and mini marshmallows on top for a gooey, chocolatey finish.
  6. Cool and serve: Let the treats cool completely at room temperature to set, then cut into squares and serve.

Notes

  • Use parchment paper for easy removal and cleaner edges.
  • For a crispier texture, press gently without compacting the mixture too much.
  • Mini marshmallows on top can be toasted under a broiler for a few seconds if desired for extra flavor.
  • Store leftover treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
  • For a nut-free version, ensure all ingredients are certified nut-free.
