Ingredients

Scale

For the Dough

  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg

For the Peach Filling

  • 2 cups peeled and diced ripe peaches (fresh or canned and drained)
  • â…“ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

For the Cinnamon Sugar Filling

  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened

For the Frosting

  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1–2 tablespoons milk (to thin if needed)

Instructions

  1. Make the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, instant yeast, and salt. Add the warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a soft dough forms, then knead for 5–7 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic. Cover the bowl and let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
  2. Prepare the Peach Filling: While the dough is rising, combine the peeled and diced peaches, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cornstarch, and lemon juice in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook the mixture for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally until it thickens. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
  3. Roll Out the Dough and Add Fillings: Once the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface into a large rectangle approximately 10×16 inches. Spread the softened butter evenly over the dough, then sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar mixture made from brown sugar and cinnamon. Spoon the cooled peach filling evenly over the top.
  4. Form Rolls: Carefully roll the dough up from the long edge into a tight log. Slice the log into 12 equal rolls using a sharp knife or dental floss to avoid squishing the rolls.
  5. Second Rise: Place the rolls in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Cover and let them rise for 30–45 minutes until puffy.
  6. Bake the Rolls: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25–30 minutes or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Prepare the Frosting: While the rolls bake, beat together the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, then gradually mix in milk, one tablespoon at a time, until the frosting reaches your desired consistency.
  8. Frost and Serve: Spread the creamy frosting over the warm cinnamon rolls just after they come out of the oven. Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor experience.

Notes

  • You can use canned peaches when fresh ones aren’t in season—be sure to drain them well.
  • These rolls are best served warm and can be reheated in the microwave for 10–15 seconds.
  • For extra crunch and flavor, add chopped pecans to the peach filling.
