Pie Crust

Egg Wash & Topping
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon milk or water
- 1 tablespoon coarse sugar (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Baking Sheet: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Mix Strawberry Filling: In a small bowl, stir together the finely chopped strawberries, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract until thoroughly combined. This mixture will thicken while baking to prevent sogginess.
- Prepare Pie Dough Circles: Roll out your pie crusts on a lightly floured surface. Using a round cutter, cut out 8 equal circles for the hand pies.
- Assemble Pies: Place about 1 tablespoon of Nutella in the center of each dough circle. Spoon 1 tablespoon of the strawberry mixture on top of the Nutella gently.
- Seal the Hand Pies: Lightly brush the edges of the dough circles with water to help seal. Fold each circle over the filling to create a half-moon shape and press the edges with a fork to ensure they are sealed tightly.
