Ingredients
Scale
For the Dip:
- 8 oz container of mushrooms, roughly chopped
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 large scoop minced garlic
- 1 block (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- Pepper and garlic herb seasoning, to taste
For the Topping:
- 1/2 cup Italian panko bread crumbs
- 3 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Sauté Mushrooms: In a medium to high heat pan, add the chopped mushrooms and 3 tablespoons of butter. Cook for a couple of minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Add Garlic: Add the minced garlic to the pan with mushrooms. Toss everything together and cook for an additional two minutes until the garlic becomes fragrant. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Prepare Cheese Mixture: In a separate bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, shredded Parmesan cheese, and season with pepper and garlic herb seasoning to taste. Mix well until smooth.
- Combine Mushroom Mixture: Add the cooked mushroom and garlic mixture into the cheese mixture. Stir thoroughly until combined evenly.
- Assemble the Dip: Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan and pour the combined mushroom and cheese mixture into it, spreading evenly.
- Prepare Topping: In a small bowl, mix the Italian panko bread crumbs and grated Parmesan cheese together.
- Add Topping: Sprinkle the breadcrumb and Parmesan mixture evenly over the top of the dip.
- Drizzle Butter: Pour the melted butter evenly over the breadcrumb topping to help it crisp up during baking.
- Bake and Broil: Bake the dip at 375°F (190°C) for 12 minutes until hot and bubbly. Then broil for about 2 minutes, watching closely, until the topping turns golden brown.
- Serve: Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your warm, cheesy stuffed mushroom dip!
Notes
- Make sure the cream cheese is softened for easier mixing and smooth texture.
- You can use fresh garlic if you prefer more intense flavor instead of minced garlic.
- Watch the broiler carefully to avoid burning the breadcrumb topping.
- Serve with crackers, toasted baguette slices, or fresh vegetable sticks.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
