Description

This delicious Stuffed Mushroom Dip combines sautéed mushrooms, garlic, and creamy cheeses topped with a crunchy, buttery panko and Parmesan crust. Baked until golden and bubbly, it’s a perfect warm appetizer for gatherings or cozy nights in.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Dip:

  • 8 oz container of mushrooms, roughly chopped
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 large scoop minced garlic
  • 1 block (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • Pepper and garlic herb seasoning, to taste

For the Topping:

  • 1/2 cup Italian panko bread crumbs
  • 3 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Sauté Mushrooms: In a medium to high heat pan, add the chopped mushrooms and 3 tablespoons of butter. Cook for a couple of minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  2. Add Garlic: Add the minced garlic to the pan with mushrooms. Toss everything together and cook for an additional two minutes until the garlic becomes fragrant. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Prepare Cheese Mixture: In a separate bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, shredded Parmesan cheese, and season with pepper and garlic herb seasoning to taste. Mix well until smooth.
  4. Combine Mushroom Mixture: Add the cooked mushroom and garlic mixture into the cheese mixture. Stir thoroughly until combined evenly.
  5. Assemble the Dip: Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan and pour the combined mushroom and cheese mixture into it, spreading evenly.
  6. Prepare Topping: In a small bowl, mix the Italian panko bread crumbs and grated Parmesan cheese together.
  7. Add Topping: Sprinkle the breadcrumb and Parmesan mixture evenly over the top of the dip.
  8. Drizzle Butter: Pour the melted butter evenly over the breadcrumb topping to help it crisp up during baking.
  9. Bake and Broil: Bake the dip at 375°F (190°C) for 12 minutes until hot and bubbly. Then broil for about 2 minutes, watching closely, until the topping turns golden brown.
  10. Serve: Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your warm, cheesy stuffed mushroom dip!

Notes

  • Make sure the cream cheese is softened for easier mixing and smooth texture.
  • You can use fresh garlic if you prefer more intense flavor instead of minced garlic.
  • Watch the broiler carefully to avoid burning the breadcrumb topping.
  • Serve with crackers, toasted baguette slices, or fresh vegetable sticks.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
