Ingredients
Scale
Bread and Spreads
- 3 slices white bread (or your preferred type)
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- Mustard (optional, to taste)
Sandwich Fillings
- 2 slices of tomato
- 2 leaves of romaine lettuce
- 4 ounces sliced turkey (deli or leftover roast turkey)
- 2 strips of bacon, cooked and crisp
- Avocado (optional, sliced)
- Cheese (Swiss, cheddar, or pepper jack, optional)
- Pickles (optional, sliced)
- Onion (optional, thinly sliced)
Instructions
- Toast the Bread: Lightly toast all three slices of bread until golden brown to add crunch and prevent sogginess.
- Spread Mayo: Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on one side of each toasted slice of bread to add creaminess and flavor.
- Layer the Ingredients: On the first slice of bread (mayo side up), arrange the lettuce leaves evenly followed by the tomato slices to form the base layer.
- Add the Second Slice: Place the second slice of bread on top of the tomatoes with the mayonnaise side facing down to keep the layers together.
- Add Turkey and Bacon: On top of the second slice, layer the sliced turkey evenly, then add the cooked and crisp bacon strips, and more lettuce if desired for extra crunch and volume.
- Finish the Sandwich: Place the final slice of toasted bread on top, mayo side down, to complete the triple-decker club sandwich.
- Slice and Serve: For a classic touch, cut the sandwich into quarters forming small triangles, and use toothpicks to secure each piece if needed. Serve immediately while the bread is still toasted and fillings fresh.
Notes
- You can substitute white bread with whole wheat or gluten-free bread for a healthier or dietary-specific option.
- Adding avocado slices boosts creaminess and adds healthy fats.
- For a lower fat option, use turkey bacon or skip bacon entirely.
- Customize with your favorite cheese or omit for a dairy-free version.
- Serve with pickles or a side of chips for a traditional deli experience.
